Wilmarie started the Women In Motorsport Panel in auspices of MSA/FIM with Beaulah Schoeman at Motorsport SA in 2006, and managed the panel for 3 years as President.  Wilmarie found an associating partner/sponsor (MFC) for Women In Motorsport who signed up with Wilmarie for over four years to help develop and grow Women In Motorsport. During that time she was responsible for the development and growth of all the motorsport categories covering both circuit and non circuit racing and was instrumental in giving ladies a voice in the industry. Wilmarie was able to open doors for women interested in getting involved that had previously been shut to women, enabling women from all walks of life to pursue their motorsport dreams.

Wilmarie’s passion and determination coupled with her wonderful team of Panel Members, enabled participating members of Women In Motorsport to grow over 50 % within motorsport in the first year.   One of the biggest contributing factors to this growth was also Wilmarie’s concept of putting together a WOMEN’s DAY in MOTORSPORT on actual Women’s Day.  The aim was to provide different categories in motorsport free of charge to all women out there.  Experienced and non experienced lady’s were invited to participate in all categories.  Along with this WIM was also exhibited at a lot of shopping centres and e.g. Motorshow events managed by Wilmarie .e .g. Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, Canal Walk

Her drive, commitment and great team of panel members also facilitated South Africa’s first ever Ladies only Supermoto category in 2007 and the Motocross Ladies only category in 2008

After 3 years of dedicating her time to Women In Motorsport, Wilmarie decided to resign and focus on her own racing and business again.  However, one of her last projects that she still wanted to assist MSA/WIM with, was the Ladies 600cc class in the NRSC championship for 2010.  This class is currently standing on over 21 ladies and growing daily
